Electrical work begins with testing the charging system as a whole: the battery, the alternator, the starter, and the cables between them. A car that will not start can have a healthy battery and a corroded ground strap, so we measure before we replace and only sell you the part that actually failed.
Watch for slow cranking on cold mornings, headlights that dim at idle, or a battery light on the dash. Batteries in this climate rarely give much warning past their fourth winter, so if yours is that old, a five-minute test now beats a no-start in a parking lot later.
